It is the Baby!

I am sure its the baby. I have been feeling those gentle bubbles bursting all day today! I can say they feel like tiny punches. Mostly on the right. I think its the baby's legs cycling away. Occassionaly I feel it in the centre (tiny fists?)

It is my baby telling me its safe and sound and getting stronger evryday! This is wonderful!

I felt it again.

I think I felt the baby move today morning. Just after I woke up I felt powerful weird kind of feeling in my tummy. Its difficult to describe. Something like a bubbles floatinf around and bursting. My mom says thats not how it should feel. Maybe it was something else. I am desperate to feel baby's movements. In my heart I feel, it was the baby I felt.

I have people telling me I should be clearly feeling baby's movements now. I don't. Not even a little.

Round Ligament Pain

Thankfully most expecting mothers never need to find out what the friggin term 'Round Ligament Pain' means. Unfortunately, I had to get an in depth analysis done on it. It all started with a long walk I took one fateful day. Two days later I started feeling slight pain on the lower left side of the abdomen. Back pain was already a reality and occasion stabbing pain in the lower abdomen. Both are normal side effects of pregnancy and I dismissed these new pains to stretching of muscles.

The pain continued to increase and in a week any movement would make me wince with pain. Sleeping became very uncomfortable, so did walking, climbing stairs...We wrongly blamed the long walk. But it probably wasnt the act of walking that did me in but unconscious jerky movements that one can't avoid while walking on Indian roads. You know, with all the broken pavements and potholes and trying to cross streets half running (so what if you are clearly pregnant and on a Zebra crossing? The horn blaring Sumo simply can't slow down, forget stopping)

Anyways, the doc said, it should go in 4 days. It din't. It worsened. The ultrasound scan confirmed the baby was fine! Thats all I needed to know. Pain I can take, Its not knowing what could be going on inside your own body thats unnerving.

Anyways, with loads of rest, hubby and mom's constant care I am now doing fine. Its been 1.5 mnths and I still have pain but its v v low now.

No More Cheesecakes

I am hungry all the time. I have no nausea or food cravings so far. Wonder if thats normal? I have been taking Folic acid everyday. I hope I am eating correct and enough for the baby.

Last night I stopped myself from ordering my favourite blueberry cheesecake. Soft cheese are not permitted during pregnancy. I have stopped going to the gym. I am at home full time now. No office, no long outings. My body needs 10-12 hours of sleep. I avoid malls and movie theaters coz I need to pee every 20 minutes or even less and I hate visiting publics loos.

The wait is several months long. I feel a little less cheerful these days. And moody. Hormones? I think so.

1st Heartbeats!

We heard it! Its so incredible to hear heartbeats coming out of your tummy. My baby announced its well being with loud and rapid heartbeats. :-) :-) Sounded a lot like a freight train passing by. 155 beats per/sec! SIGH!!!

They say 140-147 beats means its boy and higher than that means its a girl. Its not a scientifically backed theory though.

Am I going to have a little doll?? :-) :-)

Waiting for 8th week

One can hear the baby's heartbeat in the 8th week. We are going for another ultrasound and HCG test to ensure pregnancy is moving smoothly.

I am nervous. The HCG should have increased 16 times since last measured. Fingers crossed.

I am in my 6th week now. And I saw my baby! Well not the baby actually. The yolk sac. Its round and really tiny. Difficult to imagine it as a developing baby right now. I am impatient to see it grow fast. I want to see its face already...Will have to wait a couple of months for that!

I want to tell everybody I know that I am preggers. But will wait till 2-3 months. I also realize that I have become substantially more religious since I found out about the tiny person that is living inside me.

I feel so special. It feels like a high similar to falling in love. Everything is floating in air and happy, happy. My hubby and I grin each time our eyes meet. :-)

Doctor has advised me to strictly avoid auto-rickshaws, jerky movements, activities like running. I have been taking aerobics classes at FitnessOne. Will have to stop now. I am going to miss my gym girlfriends... Will bake a cake for them and visit to share the happy news.

Hi People, I have NEWS!

The stork has visited us! At first I wasn't sure. I could feel subtle changes in my body and well..we had been trying. With huge butterflies in my tummy I took some home tests. Their results were very non-committal to say the least. A dark line is supposed to appear, bold and clear if the result is positive. A faint line did appear, very reluctantly. I wasn't going to find out so easily. We went/ rushed to the hospital, deciding not to get too excited till we knew for sure. They took a blood test. There was more waiting involved before we could know. Next day we did! YAY! I am gonna be a MOMMY!!!
